Fencing Sessions for Primary Schools
The Club is delivering Fencing Sessions for Primary Schools under the Active After-School Communities (AASC) Program. The AASC program is a national initiative providing primary school children with the opportunity to participate in physical activities between the hours of 3:00-5:30pm. These activities consist of modified sporting games and specific fencing activities. This approach to coaching uses games as the focus of development.
With the unique ability to use Plastic Equipment, the sessions are able to teach children the skills of fencing using various activities and fun games. The best thing about the program is that it gives children the opportunity to do things that they might not think about or have the opportunity to access. If a child has never tried a particular activity they won’t know about it. It’s important for children to get a taste of a range of sports. Many of children often go on to pursue them seriously and compete at school, state or national levels.
Fencing is novel and different to other sports often appealing to those who do not naturally gravitate towards the commonly offered field and/or team sports.
Please contact us if your School would like to organise Fencing Sessions under the AASC Program.
